Infrastructure development in Quebec is a priority for the public and private sectors to support the future growth of the province. The Government of Québec plans to invest $ 88.7 billion in various sectors of activity in its Plan Québécois des Infrastructures 2016-2026 (PQI) (Road Network, Public Transit, Marine, Air, Rail, Health and Social Services and other sectors). Two major initiatives will generate major investments, namely the Stratégie Maritime ($ 9 billion investment in coastal areas to create 30,000 jobs by 2030 and establish Quebec as a gateway to eastern Canada and North America) and Plan Nord (infrastructure development in the area north of the 49th parallel). The federal government and the private sector are also involved in these major investment initiatives.
This briefing will open with a keynote presentation from Macky Tall, Executive Vice-President, Infrastructure, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and President and Chief Executive Officer, CDPQ Infra. Macky will present the model of CDPQ Infra, and will give an update on CDPQ Infra’s major project in Quebec, the REM.
Following Macky’s speech a panel will discuss the current state of Quebec infrastructure. What are the plans to come? How are they prioritized? Where are they in their advancement? What are the next steps? Where are the opportunities? Which companies and organizations contribute to the advancement of these projects?
