Event Summary:

The International Project Finance Association (IPFA) would like to announce our next event in New York, entitled ‘IPFA Americas: New York: Performance Security in P3s: What Matters Most '. This briefing will kindly be co-hosted by corporate members Aon Infrastructure Solutions and Dentons LLP on Tuesday May 20, 2014. Performance security continues to be a hot topic in the world of P3s. There are differing views on the intrinsic value of the various approaches to securing the performance of the contractor in the US P3 market. This session will bring together a group of experts who represent the various stakeholders in P3 projects to share their perspectives and objectives with respect to performance security and contractor supports. In addition, the session will explore the types of commercial structures and approaches that are utilized in P3s globally to secure performance, and how this may translate in the development of performance security packages in the US.

Each speaker will discuss his or her perspective of the various forms of contractor support (i.e., letters of credit, bonds, subcontractor default insurance, parental company guarantees, cash reserves, retainage, etc.) in a P3 project to provide the audience with a comprehensive view of the motivating factors involved in developing performance security packages for complex privately financed projects.
