Event Summary:

Against the backdrop of the recent closing of the ADB-backed project bond for Tiwi-MakBan geothermal power plants, the comeback of project bonds in Asia and start of Climate Bonds in the region, ADB’s Frederic Thomas will set the scene and then the panel. An open Q&A session will allow an opportunity to get to the heart of the benefits and challenges of the project bond model.

Join us for an open discussion at Freshfields Hong Kong on:

  • Suggested PPP project bond framework for greenfield and brownfield assets
  • Impetus to utilise the project bond model to bridge the funding gap on Asian infrastructure projects, particularly in Renewable Energy projects and PPP projects
  • Factors that are preventing the most catalytic and investable initiatives from coming to market
  • Requirements and solutions for successful project bond issuances
  • What lessons can Asia take from the European project bond market experience.
