Event Summary:

Infrastructure projects are complicated in nature and often take longer and cost more than expected to implement. Projects are also often adversely affected by more frequent and intense natural disasters resulting from climate change and emerging risks such as new construction techniques/material and cyber risks. Myanmar continues to require large amount of infrastructure investment especially in transportation, telecommunication and power sector. Private businesses and governments around the world are keen to participate in the country’s growth. Given the rapid development in Infrastructure in Myanmar and the growing scale of projects and the cost of capital, managing risk over the project life-cycle is crucial to the financing and success of these projects. A bankable project requires a clear understanding of the risks associated with the project, how they are allocated to the stakeholders and options to achieve their successful mitigation. A panel consisting of developers, lenders and the consulting community will share their experience in managing risks for project in Myanmar, some of the emerging risks and international best practices.

The full agenda will be announced soon.
