Event Summary:

This event will bring the major project parties together to discuss the drivers within the Victorian High Capacity Metro Train project that made a public private partnership PPP the most appropriate procurement process.
Investment in Transport has been a major focus of the Victorian Government in recent years. At $2.3B, HCMT is the largest investment in rolling stock in Victoria’s history. The project is predicted to transform Melbourne’s train network. The 65 new high capacity trains are being built in Victoria over 6 years. The project is set to have a major positive impact on Victoria’s local manufacturing industry, generating more than a $1 billion projected investment in the local supply chain. Speakers will also address the State’s drive for local content and the impact this has had on the financing arrangements related to the project.
