Event Summary:

The application of project finance to healthcare is rapidly evolving. Northern Beaches Hospital represented a major shift in NSW Government procurement to buying healthcare services from a private operator as opposed to the traditional DPFM model. Future NSW projects are expected to be based on further evolution of this model. And other private hospital projects and precincts are planned or underway. What does this mean for project finance? Is there a demand for off balance sheet private finance compared to corporate finance? How are project financiers assessing the changing risk profile? Private investors are attracted to investing in healthcare property assets; how relevant are traditional project finance skills in structuring transaction opportunities as compared to property finance?
We are assembling a range of speakers active in this field from diverse backgrounds in healthcare development, operations, debt financing and equity investment. Paul Paxton and Daniel Marks, Partners at Minter Ellison will introduce the topic and facilitate a panel discussion.
