Renewable energy in Australia has emerged from its dark ages into a renaissance period but one which is rapidly changing. This event will discuss some of the opportunities and challenges that are emerging, in particular:
-    Energy storage
-    High renewable energy penetration
-    Coping with a disappearing RET
-    Non-standard PPAs (shorter tenor, part merchant, sub-investment grade)
-    Grid Parity (who’ll get their first - solar or wind?)

As ACT Minister for the Environment Simon Corbell was the chief architect and driving force behind the ACT’s 100% renewable energy target through innovative programmes for the procurement of solar and wind power and battery storage.  He has now taken this passion for renewable energy and the environment to Victoria where he is the state’s Renewable Energy Advocate.  Simon will give an address touching on some of these opportunities and challenges.  A panel discussion involving developers, investors, lenders and lawyers in the renewables sector will follow with opportunities for questions and answers from attendees.
