Increasing investment in student accommodation and the development of education precincts has become increasingly prevalent with projects from ANU, University of Melbourne, Curtin University in the market with more soon to be launched. The approach to project financing has evolved dramatically with the successful model deployed by the University of Wollongong. So what are the challenges with getting more universities to tap the market? How are financiers assessing some of the risks with this specialist asset class?
