Event Summary:

Lower commodity prices are having a pronounced impact on the global economy. In recent years a significant number of large natural resources projects have been financed on a non-recourse basis. There are also projects that are dependent on counterparties in the natural resources sector for viability. With lower commodity prices expected to prevail for some time, an examination of the potential impact on these projects, and lenders to them, is warranted. How long might this downturn be and are the projects well enough structured to survive?

The event will start with an examination of the current and projected commodity price environment by Dominic Tisdell, Head of Metals & Mining Consulting - Asia Pacific for Wood Mackenzie. This will be followed by an overview of the potential impact on key Australian projects by Mark Decker – Director, Advisory, MUFG and a panel discussion featuring industry leaders and financiers.
