The event will focus on the application of Project Finance in the Polish power sector, including lessons learned from the past and a glance into the future. Poland has seen a rapid expansion of its renewable energy generation sector, reaching 5 GW of installed capacity in 2015, and much of it was project financed. While conventional generation and other power business segments have seen much less of limited-recourse project financing, their experiences are relevant today, when all industry players have to carefully manage their balance sheets and look for diversification of financing sources. Going forward, the key driver is the regulation: for the renewables sector, which expects the launch of the new support system in the next twelve months, most likely in the form of auctions; and the support system for conventional generation and co-generation. This seminar will gather a prime selection of market practitioners from the financial, legal and industrial fields.
