The prospect of $1 trillion in US infrastructure spending is generating considerable excitement and interest from potential investors and financiers, including in Japan. Yet the Trump administration’s plans are still thin on details and there are many obstacles to be overcome – not least how to fund / finance projects (in particular, how to incentivise private investment) and how to streamline the existing complex regulatory framework. A panel of experts will discuss the future of US infrastructure, looking at government policy, key sectors (roads, rail, airports, water, smart cities and social infrastructure) and challenges and opportunities for Japanese firms.
The full agenda will be announced soon.
