Effectiveness, innovation and finance are the main drivers for collaboration between the tax-funded public sector and the profit-driven private sector. This has been shown internationally in successful delivery of infrastructure, transport and energy projects worldwide.. The goal of these collaborations is to manage public investments from a life cycle point of view, in an efficient way by applying high qualitative standards and delivering Value For Money. The usage of PPPs in public procurement distinctively varies between countries. The level of PPP in Sweden is very low considering the similarities in economic conditions compared to countries with high usage of PPP. Only two major infrastructure projects Arlandabanan and Nya Karolinska Solna have been realised using PPP.
The aim of this event is to discuss the need for and effects of infrastructure investments, status of current projects, the models for procurement, contracting and collaboration with the private sector and alternative ways of looking at and implementing these large scale projects which have worked successfully in both developed and emerging markets.
