Event Summary:

The International Project Finance Association (IPFA) would like to announce our ‘Future Leaders Network’ (FLN) in Johannesburg, entitled ‘Quo vadis for project financiers after REIPPP and the implementation of the NDP’. This briefing will kindly be hosted by corporate member DLA Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr on Friday 6 June 2014.

The IPFA Future Leaders Network (FLN) is specifically targeted at the next generation of leaders with up to 4-8 years of industry experience and we encourage our members to ensure that their relevant colleagues are aware of this session.

The IPFA FLN aims to provide a platform to;

Learn and network with other representatives in the industry of a similar organisational level
Leverage experience from inspirational leaders
Discuss their role in shaping their country’s infrastructure landscape
The panel will discuss:

What are the practical steps to rolling out NDP (infrastructural aspects) as government has indicated this is a plan that will be followed post elections
Is Government’s plan only to focus on power or are the programmes similar to REIPPP for other infrastructural needs
NDP looks out to 2030 (16 years is not a long time) some critical items are: rail infrastructure, water infrastructure, transport infrastructure, schools, hospitals, information and communications infrastructure
are the skillsets being currently developed going to allow for the planned delivery in the next 16 years;
and are crucial industries for the identified infrastructure rollout being developed sufficiently to cater for ability and capability of delivery to be less reliant on foreign players (e.g.: REIPPP, Gautrain, Prasa rolling stock).
