Primary and community care services are a critical component in the delivery of health and social care in Northern Ireland, providing approximately 85-90% of all health and social care treatments. The publication of Transforming Your Care (TYC) in December 2011 heralded a renewed focus on investment in Primary and Community Care Infrastructure. Since then, a £300m programme of investment has been developed, prioritised and implementation is now underway.
The ability to deliver the programme in timescales that are commensurate with need will necessitate the use of privately financed approaches. In this regard, a third party developer (3PD) has been developed and the first two projects using this model are already in procurement. This event will give members an opportunity to hear a programme update from the Head of Infrastructure Development at the Health & Social Care Board and visibility of the procurement pipeline.
