With multiple consultations carried out during 2016, interest is growing in the new infrastructure asset class of competitively appointed transmission operator projects (or CATOs).  Ofgem’s informal estimate of the potential size of the competitive investment in respect of CATOs is £1-1.5billion of projects per annum up to 2021.  These are new, high-value, separable onshore electricity transmission assets which, to many in the market, represent an exciting pipeline of complex construction and development opportunities.

James Norman, Head of New Transmission Investment at Ofgem will deliver the keynote presentation.
