Event Summary:

In this event, we will discuss the current developments of the European solar energy market, with a focus on the main statistics, regulatory environments and key trends. A specific Italian solar project rated by DBRS will be provided to the audience. Solar technology has made great advances over the past decade in terms of price reductions, panel cell efficiency, reliability and longevity. In some geographies where solar resources are robust, solar technology can now generate power at approximately the same life-cycle cost as other conventional forms of generation. Such solar facilities do not need to rely on environmental pricing subsidies such as a feed-in tariff. With continual technological advances, grid parity will eventually be achieved in areas with less-than-optimal solar resources. This will have an impact on the profitability of such facilities to owners and the credit quality of the debt to its lenders.
