With major policy announcements already made in relation to the Northern Powerhouse and transport connectivity sitting at the top of the growth agenda, the session will discuss what the general election result means for the proposed programme of transport investment and will address the following;
- Are the major infrastructure projects still on course (HS2, HS3/Leeds-Manchester high speed rail link, Crossrail 2)
- What impact will it have on devolution of powers to cities - is fiscal devolution more or less likely?
- What impact will the Northern Powerhouse agenda mean for transport investment?
- What is the attitude to financing transport infrastructure - what role is project finance likely to play?
