Infrastructure is the backbone of an economy. Without roads to drive on, hospitals to care for people, airports to enable travel, societies struggle to grow. The US was a leader in infrastructure 30 years ago, but with limited investment it now lags many other global economies and needs significant investment just to “catch up”.
