In a bid to encourage investment and foster growth in key sectors of the economy, the government has enacted the Special Economic Zones Act No. 16 of 2015. The Act provides for the establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZ) where business-enabling policies, integrated land uses and sector-appropriate on-site and off-site infrastructure and utilities, are provided. Licensed SEZ enterprises also enjoy numerous incentives designed to promote business and other economic activities. With a number of SEZ projects already in the pipeline, this event will discuss the opportunities presented by the SEZ regime. The panel of experts will discuss the roadmap of how Kenya can fully realise the potential of SEZs and attendees will gain valuable insights from SEZ developers, regulators and experts.
