IPFA Australia: Sydney: Project Bonds for Australian Borrowers

In 2018, the global project bond market totalled US$45bln, approximately 16% of the size of the Project loan market. Australia represented 5% of global project bond issuers by volume.  Frederick Echeverria travelled from MUFG’s New York based project bond / private placement team, which ranked no.2 in the PFI and IJGlobal 2018 project bond league tables.

We will examine the prospects for Australian project borrowers in the international debt capital markets and analyse the ingredients for a successful project bond. A panel comprising institutional debt investors and borrowers will then discuss the opportunities and constraints for Australian projects seeking to diversify their funding sources.
