IPFA Australia: Melbourne FLN: Authentic Leadership
The topic for the evening will be Authentic Leadership, an area which is receiving greater attention in recent times, particularly in the context of culture, integrity and leadership style. While law makers and regulators have looked to address situations where these standards fall short, there are often deeper issues which must be addressed by the leaders themselves.
Good leaders - those who lead with purpose, values and integrity - are now in high demand. Authenticity is the most effective and sustainable way to be a “good” leader and inspire a culture that is founded on these three key components.
Join your fellow Future Leaders for a casual night of networking while enjoying drink and canapés, kindly hosted by National Australia Bank and the IPFA Australian FLN Committee.
Tracey Waring, Global IFRS Mining & Metals Leader and Financial Accounting Advisory Services, EY
Tracey has over 25 years of experience in the provision of assurance and financial accounting advisory services to a wide range of clients and a large portion of these being from the mining and metals sector. Two of these years were spent working at EY’s global headquarters in London.
As a result of these corporate and life experiences, Tracey has experienced many different forms of leadership – some good and others not so good. She has also lead many different teams throughout her career and has been a female leader in what was, and still is, a male dominated sector. She is also an avid reader and consumer of all things leadership and loves to learn. So while not an expert in Authentic Leadership, she can share with you her understanding of, and perspectives on, what it means to be an authentic leader and help you consider what this may mean for you.
