Indonesian Water PPPs: Financing Water Projects in Indonesia
The ruling from the Constitutional Court on the water resources law in 2013 has somewhat changed how water projects are structured. While the Constitutional Court ruling was thought to have added another obstacle to an already struggling industry, we have witnessed a growth in the water sector. There have been at least two water PPP projects, with a total capacity of approximately 4,750 litre per second and project costs estimated at USD300 million achieved by financial close, and more projects, either at preparation or tender stage, coming to market.
This session will look at what the challenges are, how the key players adapted to the challenges, and provide a forward look at the financing of water projects.
