Navigating Through Climate Change Challenges: Risks & Opportunities

With the escalation of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) a number of our members are facing strict travel and meeting attendance restrictions. Due to these concerns this event has been postponed from its original date of 17 March. We will inform members by sending out an email announcement and updating our website once the new date has been confirmed.

IPFA would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience caused, however, the health and safety of members and staff is our priority.

Due to some changes in our event schedule, over the coming months we will be announcing an increased amount of content for members to access online. Our current online content can be found on our website here which features past presentations and webinar recordings. Keep informed by ensuring you’re signed up to our mailings.

Climate Change is recognized as the highest priority ESG matter facing investors. The World Economic Forum (WEF) identified extreme weather events and failure of climate mitigation and adaptation as the top two risks with respect to probability of occurrence. Businesses are increasingly being exposed to climate change risks, which can significantly compromise their operations on the one hand, and generate opportunities on the other.

In this event, we will focus on how climate change has become a priority for corporations as a driver for value, and how to navigate through the challenges it poses: what for? What approach to deploy? What scenarios to consider? Through case studies we will feature how generation of business value is achieved through assessing the materiality of climate-related factors, quantify their impacts, and how these are likely to evolve in the context of energy transition considering scenario analysis. The discussion will also provide an opening to the broader context outside of Iberia.

This event will be held in Spanish.

Coronavirus Guidance

Following the COVID-19 (also known as Coronavirus) outbreak we have updated our event guidelines to reduce risks to health from attending our events globally.
