Board Vacancies & Nominations

There are three vacancies to join the IPFA Board as a non-executive director for a three-year term at this year's AGM in London. One of the vacancies specifically represents our Future Leaders Network (FLN) initiative.

To ensure a continued alignment with interests of the membership and industry, we have introduced a new process for board nominations which identifies what areas and attributes are currently underrepresented at board level and highlights these as preferable attributes for nominations.

FLN Vacancy

As noted, this vacancy is open to any IPFA Member who is considered to be a future leader, candidates are likely to have around three to eight years’ experience in the industry. It is not essential that candidates meet the criteria noted for the main vacancies in the 2020 Board Composition Policy document and set out below. Nominations are from a range of sector and geographic regions. The role will assist the secretariat to develop and deliver the FLN strategy globally over the course of the three-year term.

Main Vacancy

As highlighted in the Board Composition Policy document, we requested that nominations put forward by members represented or had gained experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Coverage of North America, Asia and Australia
• Expertise in energy, ESG or digital infrastructure
• Who represent the public sector or who work for a contractor, procurer, insurance or financial advisor. As three of the current board members’ terms are expiring who represent banks, we would also welcome nominations from this institution type
• Who could support the team on legal matters and corporate governance, finance, HR and health & safety, FLN and IT.
