Webinar | The Evolution of Renewables in Australia – the Emergence of Batteries and Hydrogen

Australia's commitment towards combating climate change is facing scrutiny, spotlighted on the global stage with COP26. In that context, the Australian energy market is set to face unprecedented change particularly with the Post 2025 National Electricity Market (NEM) redesign and the need for a renewables based generation sector that will be more reliant on firming technologies. In this panel discussion, we will hear from the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) who will provide an overview of the Energy Security Board's final advice and recommendations on the Post-2025 NEM redesign from AEMC's perspective. We will also hear from market participants from both a debt and equity perspective on the challenges and opportunities presented by these changes.

Keynote: Ben Barr, Chief Executive, Australian Energy Market Commission

Moderator: Melissa Keane, Partner, Allens
Ally Bonakdar, Acting Global Head of Infrastructure, Energy & Utilities, Specialised Finance, National Australia Bank
Lachlan Creswell, Executive Director, Head of Green Investment Group ANZ, Macquarie Capital
