Financing the Energy Transition - Challenges and Opportunities
Decarbonisation, the further development and expansion of renewable energy and corresponding storage projects and hydrogen are all major issues for a sustainable future. Given the need for greater independence of oil and gas supplies and the avoidance of further supply chain disruptions, corresponding infrastructure projects will move further to the forefront.
- “Transition to a sustainable hydrogen economy”: Clean Hydrogen will play a key part to decarbonise industrial processes and provide a solution for certain types of transport. In order to achieve scalability, a stable regulatory framework as well as international investments and the bankability of long term projects need to be developed.
- “Latest developments in battery storage financing”: The considerable development of renewable energy sources is leading to an increasing need of energy storage capacities. Operating challenges, the respective legal and regulatory framework in Europe as well as key risk parameters and respective mitigants need to be addressed swiftly.
