Financing Sustainable Transport Infrastructure – A Moving Target?

The OECD estimates that approx. 6.5 trillion EUR/ year of infrastructure investments – including transport - are required through 2030 to meet global climate and development objectives. And transport is the largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union, accounting for around 31% of total emissions.

Given the objectives, significant investment gaps exist in financing related transport infrastructure – including digital, EV charging and smart mobility. As requirements and business models in the associated transport, mobility and infrastructure sectors are constantly in motion, we will discuss risks and opportunities for the private sector including institutional, private equity and corporate finance.

Join us when we debate challenges and success stories and how financing and stakeholders interact.

Discussion Points:

- Investment in sustainable transport and smart mobility under the EU Green Deal – understanding regulation, subsidies, and policies

- Sustainable transport investment must build greener or climate -proof” infrastructure – what are the risks and opportunities for investors, users and operators?

- Financing and operating critical infrastructure (bus, truck, passenger cars…): case studies and success stories

- How does the German Verkehrswende impact charging infrastructure: market demand, financing models, innovation

- 10 investment ideas for a Green Transportation Infrastructure
