IPFA Future Leaders Network Asia

The Future of Corporate PPAs in Asia Pacific

2023 was a record year for renewable energy corporate PPAs in Asia Pacific, with the market growing by 35% since 2022. There is strong momentum in the market and the common perception is that corporate PPA activity will grow exponentially. Is it true that it has never been easier for corporations to procure clean energy? What are the significant legal, regulatory, technical and operational challenges in APAC which threaten to stall this growth? Given that expectations of the developers, financiers, and offtakers may not always be the same, is there a need for a market standard corporate PPA?

Future Leaders are invited to join us as we explore the evolving role of corporate PPAs across the APAC region and how developers, financiers and corporate offtakers assess the risks and rewards associated with corporate PPAs.

Learning objectives

- How do corporate PPAs help corporations achieve their clean energy goals

- Understanding the legal, regulatory, technical and operational challenges to the growth of corporate PPAs in the APAC region

- How does the APAC market compare to the rest of the world and what needs to change to facilitate the growth of corporate PPAs in APAC

- Issues regarding bankability of corporate PPAs in the APAC region and market trends from a financing perspective

- What are the key risks and challenges while negotiating corporate PPAs from a developer and offtaker perspective
