IPFA Future Leaders Network Continental Europe
Decarbonization and Sustainability Goals in Construction
The construction industry is responsible for over 35% of the EU’s total waste generation. Greenhouse gas emissions from material extraction, manufacturing of construction products, as well as construction and renovation of buildings are estimated at up to 12% of total emissions.
To achieve the EU's target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030, new buildings need to be carbon-neutral and must meet a broad range of (EU) sustainability targets. The challenges and opportunities for construction companies, developers, investors and financiers are equally huge.
This event brings together experts sharing insights and strategies for the successful transition of construction towards a sustainable future in Belgium and the EU. You will gain valuable insights into the general developments and targets set by the EU, and hear how construction industry stakeholders aim to meet these goals in practice.
