Emerging Markets: Institutional Investment in Energy & Infrastructure

Join us for a panel discussion on how the changing landscape for UK institutional investment potentially leads to greater appetite for energy and infrastructure opportunities in emerging markets.

This event will touch on the UK Government's proposals to deliver a major consolidation of the pension system, and how these changes (as well as the continued growth of defined contribution pension schemes) open the sector up to making more investments in high-growth markets. We'll consider the current barriers to investment, including the lack of data and transparency, and what needs to be done to improve the attractiveness of these markets. We'll look specifically at the UK-India corridor and some of the activities currently underway to attract more participation from international investors and developers in India's domestic market.

Our panel will feature a diverse group of investors, developers, and advisors, who will explore the latest trends, opportunities and innovative solutions shaping emerging market finance.

Speakers:

- Sohini Kar-Purkayastha, Clifford Chance (Moderator)

- Anurag Gupta, Sequoia Investment Management Company

- Layth Irani, SMBC

- Busani Moyo-Majwabu, Control Risks
