The Road to Financing Offshore Wind in Ireland: Opportunities and Challenges
Offshore wind energy now presents an emerging opportunity to transform Ireland’s energy markets. The size and scale are expected to require pools of capital that go beyond public and bank finance to long term project finance in both the private and capital debt market finance space.
To make Irish offshore attractive for such diverse pools of debt finance, transactions need to overcome obstacles including political, regulatory, and commercial challenges.
This panel will look at opportunities and challenges to getting project finance transactions executed in the Irish offshore wind market, as well as what Ireland can learn from project finance execution in the sector in other neighbouring markets.
