Key Challenges in Financing and Commercialising BESS Projects
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are playing an increasingly central role in the energy transition, while presenting new commercial, regulatory and financing challenges.
This joint Future Leaders and Mainstream event will bring together a broad audience to explore key structuring and market considerations for BESS and hybrid PV/BESS projects, including commercialisation models, grid connection frameworks and their impact on project financeability.
The programme will begin with a dedicated Future Leaders session, featuring a presentation on “Legal Structuring & Bankability” and a workshop on “Challenges, Structuring, and Requirements in the Financing of BESS Projects.” Future Leaders will then join the wider audience for the main event.
The main session will include a keynote address by TenneT and a panel discussion covering topics such as tolling vs merchant models, flexible grid connection agreements, hybrid PV/BESS projects, and regulatory considerations under the German Energy Industry Act.
Join us for this insightful and forward-looking event to connect with industry experts, gain practical insights, and be part of the conversation shaping the future of energy storage.
