Plugged In or Left Out? The Transmission Gap in Renewables

Transmission infrastructure is one of the biggest bottlenecks in the energy transition.

Investment in transmission is no longer limited to stable, regulated assets. New procurement models now require participants to compete for the right to design, finance, build and operate transmission lines.

This session will explore the key challenges shaping procurement design and financing, including:

- Multi-year planning, approvals and regulatory processes

- Community opposition, land access and corridor conflicts

- Rising materials costs and supply chain pressure

- First Nations engagement and social licence obligations, and

- Debt and equity financing challenges.

This is a great opportunity for Future Leaders in this space to appreciate a broad range of perspectives (planning, social licence, commercial and financing) on the challenges of developing transmission infrastructure in Australia.

Speakers to be announced soon.
