Revenue Models for Financing the Next Generation of UK Infrastructure

The UK's CfD regime transformed offshore wind into one of the most bankable asset classes in European infrastructure, while RAB financing has proven its worth in unlocking major nuclear and utility investment where construction risk would otherwise deter private capital.

As the UK confronts a new wave of infrastructure challenges — from grid reinforcement and hydrogen to long duration energy storage, transport, water security and next-generation nuclear — the question is no longer whether these models work, but which of their features can be extracted, adapted or built-upon for assets with very different risk profiles. This panel interrogates what made CfD and RAB successful, where they strain at the edges, and how revenue certainty can be engineered into the next generation of nationally significant projects whilst maintaining value for money for bill payers.
