Powering Spain's Energy Transition: Renewables, BESS and System Flexibility

Spain reached a major clean power milestone in 2025, with renewable sources generating 55.5% of the country's electricity. As renewable capacity continues to expand, attention is increasingly turning to the technologies needed to support a more flexible and resilient energy system. Recent months have seen significant progress in battery energy storage, including the financing of Spain's first stand-alone storage project.

Against this backdrop, we bring together leading voices from across the market to explore the next chapter of Spain's energy transition. The discussion will examine the opportunities and challenges associated with scaling renewable generation and battery storage, where investment is flowing, how financing structures are evolving, and what policy, regulatory and market developments are needed to support continued growth.
